Charming Stone Cottage part of a 17th Century Chateau in the heart of WW2 sites.  3 Bedrooms, 1 full bathroom; plus toilet  with washbasin, sleeps 8/fully equipped kitchen/dining area/lounge

La Fermette is a pretty cottage originally built in the 17th century and was part of an old chateau. It is surrounded by fields, woodlands and stunning views for peace,  tranquility,  and relaxation. Situated in rolling countryside with outstanding views down the valley, you need look no further for a relaxing holiday. For those who enjoy nature you may be lucky to see some deer or some of the many birds who inhabit the area.
If it is adventure you are seeking, 10 mins drive down the road is the Bungy Jumping site of the Valley de la Souleuvre. From the viaduct you can Swing, Scable or jump. There is also an adventure playground for our younger guests. We are in the middle of the World War 2 Battlefields not far is Caumont l'Evente liberated by the Americans of the 'Big Red One'. In St Martin des Besaces is a very interesting WW2 Museum. Not far is Mont Pincon and the cemetery at St Charles de Percy.

House details: This comfortable old cottage has a rustic charm; there are 3 double bedrooms, 2 with double beds(1 a four poster with pretty drapes) and 1 with bunk beds and 2 singles. 1 bedroom is downstairs next to the family bathroom which has a bath with a shower over wash hand basin and toilet there is also a toilet with wash basin between the 2 upstairs bedrooms . In the open plan lounge there is seating for seven people. The kitchen and dining area is well equipped; there is an electric oven with gas hob, an extractor fan, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the laundry room adjoining the cottages.

Surrounding details: This lovely Normandy cottage in idyllic surroundings is perfect for a quiet relaxing break or for outdoor sporting activities: golf, fishing, mountain biking, walking, paragliding, horse riding, rock climbing, white water canoeing, water skiing, jet skiing. There are at least 10 fishing lakes and around 6 golf courses within easy reach.
It is ideally suited for sight seeing, with several historic towns within 30 mins drive such as Caen, Bayeux, Vire, St. Lo.
The Landing beaches with their wonderful sandy expanses and the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches are about 40 mins . Falaise, Mont St Michel and the Atlantic Coast with its rugged and wild areas are about 1 hours drive.
For younger children there is Festyland, Le Village Enchante, Zoological Parcs, Adventure Playgrounds, Karting, Pony Trekking and  Ouga Ouga indoor play area.

Art and Culture: For those who are interested in Art and Culture, Normandy has much to offer. Monet's Garden at Giverny being one example. Museums, Chateau, Historical Buildings and restaurants abound. Caen has a great reputation for shopping and Paris is about 3 hours drive. With such diverse attractions there is something for everyone.
